From Capt. Kristopher Krasnoky
I have captained vessels thorough the Great Lakes, the entire US East Coast south of New York, The Bahamas and various Caribbean destinations on boats ranging from 16 foot catamarans to 50 foot ocean cruisers. In 2011 I earned my Masters 50 ton License and have been teaching sailing ever since to both aspiring and experienced sailors in the Chesapeake Bay, Lake Erie, Philadelphia, and Hawaii. If you would like to read more about some of these trips I encourage you to read more about them in my past adventures blog or consider starting an adventure of your own with some sailing lessons.
In early 2012 I founded Faraway5 Adventures in order to continue sharing my passion of sailing with others. I purchased and restored Kewadin, my 32′ Hunter Vision sloop and offer sailing lessons and cruises on her. After a few years I sold Kewadin purchased our current vessel a 42 foot Beneteau “First” sloop
The Boat
Faraway5’s teaching and cruising boat, “Waterbound”, is a Beneteau “First” 42. She was designed as a racer cruiser so not only is she comfortable and stable but she can also be quite fast and exciting!
Waterbound offers a large comfortable cockpit to sit in, a galley for meal preparation and a restroom for long trips. She is exceptionally stable can provides gentle and safe ride for those who want a quite relaxing day on the water. If you are up for more of a sailing adventure we can call on our boats racing pedigree and head out to the strong trade winds. Either way you are assured a safe comfortable ride!
